Activists of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi Vidyarthi (BRSV) staged a protest at Lok Bhavan on Wednesday condemning the alleged leak of the NEET-UG examination paper and the subsequent cancellation of the exam. The demonstrators demanded strict action against officials responsible for the incident.
Police detained several BRSV activists during the protest and shifted them to nearby police stations.
Addressing the protesters, BRSV State President Gellu Srinivas Yadav termed the paper leak a major failure of both the Central Government and the National Testing Agency (NTA). He said the controversy had pushed the future of nearly 23 lakh students across the country into uncertainty.
He recalled similar incidents in 2021 and 2024 and alleged that the BJP-led Central Government had failed to take effective measures to stop repeated examination leaks.
Gellu Srinivas Yadav also questioned why the Centre did not implement the recommendations of the K. Radhakrishnan Committee, which reportedly suggested conducting NEET in an online format after the 2024 controversy.
The BRSV demanded the resignation of NTA Director General Abhishek Singh and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, holding them morally responsible for the incident.
