KTR launched a sharp attack on the Congress government, alleging that it had failed to fulfil several election promises, including enhanced pensions and financial assistance schemes for women

BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao on Monday announced that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi would ensure 24x7 safe drinking water supply to every household in Hyderabad once the party returns to power. Addressing a party cadres’ meeting in Kukatpally, KTR said the BRS government had earlier transformed Telangana from a state facing severe power shortages into one with uninterrupted electricity supply and would similarly provide round the clock drinking water supply to the city.
Recalling the situation before the formation of Telangana, KTR said people had suffered due to prolonged power cuts and drinking water scarcity during decades of Congress rule in the undivided state. He stated that after the formation of Telangana, the government led by K. Chandrashekar Rao successfully implemented uninterrupted power supply and launched Mission Bhagiratha to provide piped drinking water connections across the state.
Stating that the same determination shown in providing uninterrupted electricity would now be focused on drinking water supply, KTR asserted that KCR would ensure 24 hour water supply to Hyderabad as well. He added that he would personally take responsibility for the successful implementation of the programme after BRS returns to power.
KTR launched a sharp attack on the Congress government, alleging that it had failed to fulfil several election promises, including enhanced pensions and financial assistance schemes for women. He claimed that despite being in power for nearly two and a half years, the Congress government had not spent additional funds for Hyderabad’s development.
He accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of inaugurating projects constructed during the previous BRS regime and taking false credit for flyovers, hospitals and infrastructure facilities built under BRS governance.
The BRS leader also challenged the Congress government to prove that it had constructed even a single double bedroom housing project in Hyderabad during its tenure. He further alleged that Congress policies had severely impacted Hyderabad’s real estate sector, leading to slowdown in construction activity and job losses among construction workers.
KTR said that after returning to power, BRS would introduce welfare and insurance programmes for construction and centring workers. He also announced that the upcoming BRS membership drive would be conducted fully in digital mode and would continue for nearly 50 to 60 days with training programmes for party workers.
