BJP can unseat Revanth in five minutes, says Aruna

BJP MP DK Aruna launched a scathing attack on the Congress government in Telangana, warning that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy "would not remain in the Chief Minister's chair even for a day" if the Centre decided to act. She claimed it would take the BJP "just five minutes" to rein in the Chief Minister, adding that the state government could not move forward without the support of the Union government.

Addressing a press conference at her residence in Hyderabad on Sunday, Aruna said the BJP possessed a complete record of what she described as the Congress government's corruption over the past two-and-a-half years. She urged Revanth Reddy to stop working to impress Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and instead focus on fulfilling the promises made to the people.

Targeting Rahul Gandhi over the recent NEET protests, Aruna questioned why he had not staged a protest immediately after the examination was cancelled. She alleged that Rahul Gandhi had organised a demonstration outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence only to claim credit for a movement initiated by others. According to her, the protest held in Delhi had more outsiders than students, and alleged that foreign funding was involved. She claimed the identities of those behind the agitation would soon be exposed.

Aruna alleged that certain forces were attempting to destabilise the country and said Indians would never tolerate elements trying to divide the nation. She claimed some people had made provocative remarks about turning India into countries like Nepal and Bangladesh and said all those involved in the movement would eventually be identified. She also remarked that Prime Minister Modi's growing global reputation was being viewed with jealousy by his political opponents.

Criticising both the Congress and the BRS, Aruna said neither Revanth Reddy nor BRS working president KT Rama Rao had the moral right to speak on paper leak issues. She recalled that Group-I and other examination papers had leaked during the previous BRS government and questioned why no one resigned then. Referring to the alleged Class 10 examination paper leak under the present Congress government, she asked whether anyone had taken responsibility or resigned.

The BJP MP said the Centre had acted swiftly after the NEET paper leak by cancelling the examination and conducting it again within a short period, thereby correcting the mistake. She further alleged that individuals associated with the Aam Aadmi Party had attempted to provoke youth to weaken Prime Minister Modi's leadership and tarnish India's image internationally.

Aruna also accused Rahul Gandhi of avoiding debates in Parliament while preferring to stage protests on the streets wearing black clothes. She alleged that youth from Telangana and Karnataka had been provided railway tickets and sent to Delhi to participate in demonstrations. She further claimed that Congress-ruled states were witnessing corruption and that money collected there was being sent to Delhi to run the party.

Questioning criticism over paper leaks, she asked whether similar incidents had not occurred in Congress-ruled and other states. She alleged that anti-national elements were receiving money and support from abroad to create unrest in the country and appealed to young people to follow the right path and protect India's traditions.

Aruna also criticised the Chief Minister's recent celebrations and rally, remarking that while the BJP respected the public mandate for five years, it could hold Revanth Reddy accountable for the promises he had made. Referring to paper leak incidents in Punjab under the Aam Aadmi Party government, she said those now criticising the Centre had remained silent earlier. She added that the Modi government had taken steps to curb examination paper leaks and called for support from all political parties in framing stringent laws to prevent such incidents in the future.
