Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar has stated that BJP has decisively crossed the magic figure required for the Mayor's post. Addressing media at the BJP state office, Sanjay attributed the victory to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's blessings, tireless party workers' efforts, and the unwavering support of Karimnagar's people, whom he thanked for delivering an "astounding verdict" against the ruling Congress and opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
Addressing media in Hyderabad on Saturday, Sanjay highlighted that BJP secured a majority of seats through focused campaigning and strategic outreach, with independent candidates swiftly joining the fold to bolster the tally. "We chose one goal – development under Modi's vision – and won," he asserted, underscoring how the party's commitment turned intelligence predictions of just 13 seats into a triumphant haul. He revealed that over ₹1,400 crore in central funds have already transformed Karimnagar into a Smart City, funding infrastructure and welfare projects that the state Congress government has neglected, providing "not a single paisa" to municipalities in two years of rule.
However, Sanjay issued scathing Valentine's Day "wishes" to Congress, BRS, and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), accusing them of illicit alliances and "petty politics" to sabotage BJP's Mayor claim. Despite their combined 26 seats falling short, the trio has united to deny BJP the post, he alleged, with AIMIM acting as a "mediator" in this unholy pact. "Congress chats with us while eyeing BRS; their open collusion is evident,
from phone calls by CM Revanth Reddy urging BRS corporators to back Congress nominees to AIMIM's brazen demand for the Mayor slot," Sanjay fumed. He questioned the legitimacy: "I ask – how many numbers do you have? How will you become Mayor?"
Warning of repercussions, Sanjay vowed to expose this "secret agreement" and launch a "war from Karimnagar" if they defy the people's mandate. "If you trample public verdict, no Congress or BRS leader will walk these streets. We'll drag lakhs to the roads. We fear no one – not Revanth Reddy, Owaisi brothers, or Akbaruddin. Our candidates are committed; unlike others, they won't defect.
