Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh announced that Suryalanka Beach will be transformed into a world-class tourist destination with advanced facilities under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme 2.0, with an investment of Rs.97.52 crore sanctioned by the Central Government. The minister emphasized that the goal is to develop the beach into a Blue Flag Beach, ensuring international standards in cleanliness, sustainability, and tourism infrastructure.
The announcement was made at Adavipalle Palem village in Bapatla district, where Minister Kandula Durgesh inaugurated the V Water Sports Project. Speaking at the event, he highlighted the government's commitment to boosting the tourism sector under the coalition government.
Minister Durgesh noted that the government is actively inviting investors through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model to develop tourism infrastructure. As part of this initiative, V Resorts has established a state-of-the-art resort in Bapatla, introducing international-standard water sports activities while prioritizing safety and environmental sustainability.
Minister Durgesh also revealed that plans are underway to develop the Chirala-Bapatla stretch into a comprehensive tourism circuit, ensuring that visitors have a diverse and extended tourism experience. He stated that the government is committed to promoting tourism while maintaining environmental conservation as a top priority.
“We are not just focusing on individual tourist spots but are working on developing complete tourism circuits. The aim is to create an ecosystem where visitors can spend two to three days exploring various locations in a single trip,” he said. The government is implementing a multi-faceted approach to tourism by introducing Temple Tourism, Beach Tourism, Agri-Tourism, Medical Tourism, Adventure Tourism, Sports Tourism, and Wellness Tourism. This initiative aims to generate revenue for the state while offering visitors a refreshing and engaging travel experience.
Minister Durgesh concluded by emphasizing the long-term vision of the government to position Andhra Pradesh as a leading tourism destination in India, ensuring that investments in the sector contribute to both economic growth and enhanced visitor satisfaction.
