Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Sunday wished that employees should also become farmers and come to the level of farming. He praised the Eklavya Grameen Foundation and Krushi Vijnana Kendra, which are providing special training to the farmers, who feed the country to stand on their own feet and train them to market, sell their crops and earn profits. He said that the Modi government was working with the aim of making the farmer a king and added that as part of this, it was implementing extensive programs.
Bandi Sanjay inaugurated the newly built farmer's shelter and "Farmers Value Addition & Food Processing Laboratory" at Dr. Ramanaidu - Eklavya Grameen Vikas Foundation- Krishi Vijnana Kendra in Tuniki of Medak district, under the auspices of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). On this occasion, all the KVKs were present. He inquired about the Krushi being done by the KVKs for the betterment of the farmers. He visited the stalls specially set up. In the program organized on this occasion, Bandi Sanjay, Medak MP Raghunandan Rao, ICAR DG Mangilal Jath, District Additional Collector Nagesh, Ekalavya Gramana Foundation founder Dr. Bagayya, officials Vinod Kumar Singh, Sheikh Mira, Tara, Sundaram, Venkateshwarlu, Ramachandramurthy and many other high officials participated.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that these there were many organizations in the country and added that Ekalavya Gramina Foundation, Krushi Vijjana Kendra, an organization that works for the farmers with honesty, commitment and dedication, work without profit. “The hostel has been built to make corporate hostels look amazing. It is very happy to train the farmers in the name of food processing unit. Bagayya, the founder of Ekalavya Gramina Foundation, was doing tireless work in the field of education, health and organic farming. He is the guru who has made many activists like us committed to high values and service to the country.
We are the cause of all diseases. This situation has come about because of neglecting Sanatana Dharma, organic farming and health. Let us promote organic farming without chemicals. As part of that, I am very happy to launch the “Farmers Hostel, Value Addition & Food Lab” today. I am happy to provide the necessary accommodation facilities when the farmers come for training and to teach them methods of adding value to the crops. I especially congratulate the organizers who are providing training here with the desire to make the farmers kings by teaching them what products can be made from the crops they grow, how to pack them beautifully and sell them in the market,” he said .
He also said that there was no doubt that through these training programs along with technology, the productive and marketing capacity of the farmers would increase and added that they would be able to stand on their own feet.
Sanjay claimed that PM Modi was encouraging the formation of the Farmers Producer Organizations (FPOs) so that all the small and marginal farmers can work together like a big organization and added that These FPOs were being promoted with the aim of bringing together all the farmers, who have grown their crops in one place, storing them, processing the products of the crops and selling them together at a good price to benefit the farmers. “This scheme was launched 6 years ago and has so far spent Rs 6,865 crore.
Thus, the target of establishing 10,000 FPOs across the country has been achieved. More than 56 lakh farmers are members of these organizations. Out of these, about 22 lakh are women farmers. Modi ji is credited with bringing important agricultural reforms that will increase market power for small farmers. It is truly commendable that this KVK has also established 2 FPOs and promoted an organic FPO in the adopted village. It is a great thing to provide agricultural advice to about one lakh farmers in Medak district through the Kisan Saradhi portal,” he said.
He said that he was really appreciating the Tuniki KVK administrators, who are actively participating in national campaigns like Modi’s Vikasit Bharat Sankalpa Abhiyan, Swachh Bharat, Jal Shakti Abhiyan and working tirelessly to strengthen the rural economy.
