Union Minister of State for Home and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the Congress government in Telangana, alleging that attacks on Hindu temples have increased since it assumed power and asserting that the BJP would not remain silent.

During a visit to the Bhagyalakshmi Temple at Charminar, Sanjay vowed that if the BJP forms the government in the State, the shrine would be developed into a “Golden Temple” on the lines of Punjab’s Golden Temple. He accused the Congress of functioning under the influence of AIMIM and questioned whether governance should operate “under AIMIM’s boots.”

Calling upon Hindu leaders in Congress and BRS to introspect, Sanjay said the BJP would place facts before the public ahead of the GHMC elections. He also criticised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for allegedly prioritising visits to Delhi over fulfilling promises made to the people of Telangana.

Addressing party workers with folded hands, he urged them to ignore social media smear campaigns and intensify efforts to protect “Sanatan Dharma.” “Sound the war trumpet to protect our temples and teach Congress a lesson in the polls,” he declared, promising resistance to what he termed assaults on Hindu heritage.

Meanwhile, Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao echoed concerns over the law and order situation in the State. He strongly condemned the assault on Advocate Kalyani in Nizamabad, alleging that she was attacked by MIM affiliates after intervening in an incident involving a child. Demanding immediate arrests and stringent action, Rao said advocates are pillars of justice and their safety cannot be compromised.

He also targeted the Congress government over the death of a child during the Kummera Mallanna Jatara in Nagarkurnool, demanding a magisterial inquiry, release of CCTV footage, ex gratia for the bereaved family, and long-term support, warning of statewide agitation if justice is denied.
