Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu held a series of crucial meetings with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi. A major point of discussion with Amit Shah was the Andhra Pradesh Land Grabbing Prevention Bill, which Naidu emphasized as essential for curbing illegal encroachments. He pointed out discrepancies in land digitization during the previous government’s tenure, stating that private properties were wrongly categorized under 22E and even forest lands were encroached upon.
“A similar Land Grabbing Bill was successfully implemented in Gujarat. We will follow that model in Andhra Pradesh to safeguard rightful landowners,” Naidu stated. He further announced that once the bill is enacted, PD (Preventive Detention) cases will be filed against land grabbers to ensure strict enforcement.
