Axis Bank and BITS Pilani have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the Axis Bank–BITS Industry Research, Technology & Innovation Park at the BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus with a Rs 100-crore CSR grant, aimed at strengthening India’s deep-tech and translational research ecosystem.

The proposed facility, spanning around 120,000 sq. ft., will focus on life sciences, biopharma, healthcare and medical devices. It is designed to serve as an integrated platform for industry-academia collaboration, innovation and entrepreneurship, while promoting affordable healthcare solutions and technology-driven public benefit.

Located in Hyderabad’s life sciences hub near Genome Valley, the park is expected to support national initiatives such as Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India by advancing translational research and self-reliance in critical technologies.

Under the partnership, BITS Pilani will oversee the research park’s governance and academic agenda, while Axis Bank will support infrastructure development. The facility will include laboratories, incubation centers and shared research infrastructure, enabling collaboration among academia, startups, MSMEs and industry partners. It will also facilitate technology transfer, intellectual property management and access to BITS Pilani’s research expertise and talent pool.
