Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer participated as chief guest at the celebration of State Formation Day of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram held at Durbar Hall in Raj Bhavan here on Thursday, under ‘Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat’ programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Abdul Nazeer has said Arunachal Pradesh, ‘land of the rising sun’ is famous for its misty mountains, monasteries, lakes and culture and it is acknowledged to be one of the most splendid, and multilingual tribal areas of the world. He said Mizoram became a full-fledged State of Indian Union in 1986 and attained statehood on February 20, 1987, and the Mizo people take pride in their cultural diversity and take utmost care in maintaining their traditional values and customs to be followed, and kept alive by the upcoming generations.
The programme commenced with the video messages of Lt. General Kaiwalya Trivikrama Parnaik, (Retd.), Governor of Arunachal Pradesh and General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd), Governor of Mizoram, followed by rendering of melodious songs, performance of folk dances of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram by students of these two States studying in educational institutions in and around Vijayawada. Dr M. Hari Jawaharlal, Secretary to Governor, and officers and staff members of Raj Bhavan have also attended the programme.
