Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday outlined an ambitious roadmap for development, sanitation, and welfare initiatives while addressing a public gathering under the Swarna Andhra–Swachh Andhra programme in Nidadavole constituency. Emphasising governance driven by accountability and results, the Chief Minister said the state is witnessing rapid progress across sectors, backed by large-scale investments and structured policy implementation.

Naidu stated that Andhra Pradesh is attracting investments worth nearly Rs 20 lakh crore, which are expected to generate around 23 lakh jobs in the coming years. He reiterated that the government’s focus remains on inclusive growth, infrastructure expansion, and employment generation. Presenting a constituency-wise progress report, he reviewed departmental performance and directed officials to improve efficiency where required, assuring full support for administrative reforms.

The Chief Minister revealed that over 114 lakh tonnes of waste have already been cleared out of 153 lakh tonnes accumulated in urban areas, with a target of achieving 100% clearance by June. Daily waste generation in the state stands at nearly 8,957 tonnes, and systematic processing mechanisms are being strengthened to handle this volume effectively.

To further modernise waste management, the government is setting up 107 advanced processing plants at a cost of Rs 603 crore. These facilities are expected to be operational by October. Door-to-door waste collection in urban areas has already improved from 86% to 97%, with plans to achieve full coverage soon. The introduction of electric vehicles for waste collection and expansion of “Swachh Rath” services are also underway.

Naidu emphasised behavioural change among citizens, urging people to maintain cleanliness in homes, streets, public spaces, and institutions. “Clean surroundings reflect a progressive society. Public participation is key to sustaining these efforts,” he said. The government is also promoting waste segregation, kitchen gardens, and community-level sanitation infrastructure as part of a long-term sustainability plan.

Looking ahead, the state aims to increase green cover from the current 31.33% to 37% by 2030 and 50% by 2047. Waste-to-energy projects, circular economy parks, and improved urban infrastructure are also part of the broader development agenda.

The Chief Minister also announced several local development initiatives for Nidadavole, including bridge reconstruction, hospital upgrades, road connectivity improvements, and completion of housing projects, reaffirming the government’s commitment to balanced regional development.
