Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy urged Union Minister for Steel and Heavy Industries HD Kumaraswamy to establish a green steel plant (steel industry) at Bayyaram in Khammam district. The CM met Kumaraswamy and also Minister of State for Steel Bhupathi Srinivas Varma in New Delhi on Saturday.
During the meeting, Revanth Reddy briefed the Union Ministers about the importance of the establishment of the steel plant to solve the shortage of steel and address the environmental concerns. Revanth Reddy explained to the Union Ministers about the industrial revolution envisioned in the " Telangana Rising - 2047" vision document. The CM requested the Union Ministers to facilitate the establishment of a steel recycling industry utilising scrap from old vehicles in Telangana.
Revanth Reddy highlighted the prospects of promoting Hyderabad as a central hub for achieving the country's industrial production targets with the available technology, existing heavy industries, and favorable conditions for industrial production.
Revanth Reddy also appealed to Kumaraswamy and Srinivasa Varma to facilitate the establishment of an EV battery manufacturing hub in Hyderabad following a massive surge in electric vehicle (EV) sales and a robust growth in establishment of green steel cluster utilising hydrogen technology, as well as manufacturing industries catering to the automotive and defense sectors.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister requested the Union Ministers to set up a dedicated park for the manufacturing of modern equipment, such as machine tools and robotics. He briefed the Union Ministers about transforming Hyderabad into a pollution-free city by 2034 and sought the Centre's cooperation in facilitating the transition of vehicles to electric power.
