The Andhra Pradesh Assembly session will begin from 24th of February. The government will present the budget on the 28th. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu held a meeting with Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav and officials and reviewed the composition of the budget.
The government is working on a budget with an aim to achieve 15 per cent growth with equal priority to welfare and development. In particular, the CM gave clarity on the implementation of “Super Six” schemes. It is learnt that Chandrababu has instructed finance minister Payyavula Keshav that super six schemes will be implemented from this year onwards and that allocations should be made in the budget accordingly.
Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav will present the full budget in the assembly for the first time after the coalition government came to power. As part of the Super Six promises, the government will launch schemes such as “Thalliki Vandanam”(Rs 15,000 per year to the mother of every school going child) , Annadata Sukhibhava (Rs 20,000 per acre as annual subsidy to every farmer) and free bus travel schemes for women in the new financial year.
Apart from increasing the pension amount, the government has already started Deepam-2 (free gas cylinders) and Anna Canteens. In addition to the schemes alreasy launched, the three new schemes that will be launched soon are also likely to be highlighted in the budget.
The government implemented the new sand policy which aimed at giving sand free of cost. This has resulted in a decrease in income. In this context, CM Chandrababu focused on raising funds. The Centre is helping key projects like Polavaram and Amaravati. This is somewhat comforting. However, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is requesting the Centre to provide special assistance in view of the state's financial situation. In the meantime, the budget for 2024-25 was presented in November last year with an outlay of Rs 2.94 lakh crore. The budget to be presented on the 28th of this month is likely to cross Rs 3 lakh crores.
