The Andhra Premier League (APL) 2026 will commence on June 9 and conclude with the grand finale on June 30, Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) President and Vijayawada MP Kesineni Chinni announced on Sunday. Addressing the media in Vijayawada, he said seven teams are set to participate in the tournament, which is expected to serve as a major platform for emerging cricket talent from across Andhra Pradesh.
Kesineni Chinni stated that this year's matches will be played under floodlights at stadiums in Visakhapatnam, Kadapa, and Mangalagiri, offering a professional and entertaining experience for cricket enthusiasts. The tournament will begin in Visakhapatnam, where matches will be held from June 9 to June 13. The action will then shift to Kadapa from June 17 to June 21, while the final leg, including the championship match, will take place in Mangalagiri from June 24 to June 30.
He announced that Andhra Pradesh Minister for Information Technology and Education Nara Lokesh will attend the final match in Mangalagiri as the chief guest. The ACA is also making special arrangements to encourage student participation by facilitating visits for school and college students to the match venues. Educational institutions will be informed of the tournament schedule well in advance to enable better coordination.
To create awareness and generate excitement around the league, flash mobs will be organized at ten locations across Visakhapatnam. Free passes will also be provided to students from government schools and colleges. Kesineni Chinni said the matches will be broadcast live on JioStar Sports channels, ensuring wider reach and visibility for the tournament. Highlighting the importance of the league in identifying and nurturing local talent, he noted that players from Andhra Pradesh alone will participate in the tournament.
