Andhra Pradesh Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana on Tuesday announced that nearly 98.6 per cent of returnable plots promised to farmers who pooled land for the construction of Amaravati capital city have already been allotted, while over 89 per cent of registrations have also been completed.

Addressing the media after inspecting ongoing construction works in Amaravati, the minister said the state government was moving ahead with the capital development works at a rapid pace and accused the opposition YSRCP of spreading politically motivated misinformation over plot allotments.

According to the minister, a total of 30,753 farmers had voluntarily contributed 35,017 acres under the Land Pooling Scheme for Amaravati. Of them, 30,079 farmers covering 34,527 acres have already been allotted returnable plots through a transparent online lottery system conducted in the presence of farmers. Only 674 farmers remain pending due to court disputes, family issues, assigned land category complications and other legal reasons.

Narayana clarified that all allotments were carried out strictly according to the original land pooling policy. “Plots were allotted in the same village wherever possible, and in nearby villages where land availability was limited. There was complete transparency in the process,” he said.
