State Education, IT and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh said that now with AI and data revolution, Visakhapatnam is going to achieve the same level of development as that of Hyderabad. Minister Lokesh was speaking during a discussion on budget demands related to the IT department in the assembly. He recalled that the government has already announced setting up TCS in Visakhapatnam and is in talks with Infosys, Wipro and Cognizant.
"We are determined to bring the top 100 IT, BPO and start-up companies to the state. We have tremendous talent and our children are working in other states. At present the state has Rs 2500 crore IT exports. We have set a target of increasing it by at least 10 times to Rs 25,000 crore in the next five years.” Lokesh announced in the assembly.
He reiterated that the government is committed to fulfill the aspirations of unemployed youth by bringing IT companies in a large scale to the state. He recalled a recent instance where the government allotted land in 21 days and brought in an investment of Rs 1,700 crore. He stated that this is an example of how seriously the government is taking the issue of bringing in companies.
“In the past, we have brought in reputed companies like Kia, HCL and TCS. We have promised to provide 20 lakh jobs in five years in our manifesto. We all have to work together for that and in this process, we will accept any proposals or good suggestions from the opposition members.” he announced in the assembly.
He also recalled a recent TV interview where he said the Chief Minister N Chandra Babu Naidu is AP’s answer to other state which had well developed capitals "We have recently signed an agreement with Tata Power to set up 7 GW of renewable power units. Speed of doing business is the policy of our government. Investments in the state in a big way should be welcomed. People's representatives should not trouble companies in small matters.
Our children will get jobs only when investments come in. Go and promote to companies that you also know. There are wonderful opportunities in Rayalaseema. A pharma park will be set up in Uttarandhra. Only if we promote and work together will we be able to create the desired 20 lakh jobs.” Minister Lokesh said and appealed to everyone to cooperate.
