Yash praises Ranbir Kapoor’s dedication

Yash says Ranbir Kapoor made great sacrifices to portray Lord Rama and approached the demanding role with complete dedication

Actor Yash has praised his Ramayana co-star Ranbir Kapoor for the dedication and sacrifices he made to portray Lord Rama. Speaking during the film’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Yash said the role carries immense responsibility and that audiences will witness “a beautiful Rama.”

 Calling Ranbir a “fantastic actor”, Yash said portraying Lord Rama is one of the most challenging roles an actor can take up. “Nobody in this world can come and say, ‘I have the virtue to play Lord Rama.’ The fact that he says, ‘I can’t do it,’ speaks volumes,” Yash said.

He added that Ranbir worked with complete dedication and made great sacrifices to prepare for the role. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. The two-part epic will release during Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027. 

Yash backs Ramayana vision

Yash says the “right intent” has been the driving force behind Ramayana, describing it as the foundation of the film’s creative journey. Yash said the makers remained committed to telling the epic as authentically as possible despite several technical challenges. “I think intent is the most important thing. When we started with the right intent, everything fell into place,” he said.
