A delegation from the World Bank, along with officials from India’s Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), reviewed the implementation of the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) programme in Andhra Pradesh, highlighting the state’s progress in strengthening its MSME ecosystem.
As part of their visit, the delegation held detailed discussions at the AP MSME Development Corporation office in Mangalagiri with Industries Minister Kondapalli Srinivas and Corporation CEO Vishnu Manoharan. The review focused on the effectiveness of policy measures, institutional support, and outcome-based interventions aimed at boosting small and medium enterprises across the state.
During the meeting, Minister Srinivas outlined the government’s multi-pronged strategy to enhance MSME growth. He emphasised key reforms such as formalisation of enterprises, improved market linkages, and the adoption of digital governance frameworks. He also highlighted flagship initiatives like the “One Family One Enterprise” (OFOE) programme, designed to promote entrepreneurship at the household level.
The minister further informed the delegation that Andhra Pradesh is actively working towards establishing an MSME park in every Assembly constituency. Currently, 19 MSME parks are operational, while 82 more are under various stages of development and expected to be completed soon. These parks are intended to create industrial clusters, generate employment, and improve ease of doing business at the grassroots level.
Officials also presented progress under RAMP through targeted awareness programmes and capacity-building initiatives aimed at enhancing enterprise competitiveness. The state’s emphasis on measurable outcomes and structured implementation drew appreciation from the visiting team.
The World Bank representatives expressed satisfaction with Andhra Pradesh’s performance, particularly its outcome-oriented approach and policy clarity. They noted that the state is emerging as a frontrunner in effectively utilising the RAMP framework to drive MSME-led growth.
The meeting was attended by RAMP Director Ankita Pandey, World Bank representatives Adarsh Kumar and Harsh Jhanzaria, and MSME Ministry officials Dr. Milan Sharma and Dr. Atul Inamdar, along with senior state officials.
