Metro India News | Hyderabad : Pragya Didi, All India Convenor of Durga Vahini, the women's wing of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), called upon women to play a significant role in protecting Hindu Dharma and preserving Indian culture and traditions. She urged Durga Vahini members to draw inspiration from the courage of Rani Lakshmibai and the values of motherhood exemplified by Jijabai, and work with dedication towards the nation and Dharma.
She was addressing a Hindu Yuva Mahila Sammelan organised at Goulipura Mitra Club in Hyderabad's Old City. Nearly 1,100 Durga Vahini members participated in the program in uniform, showcasing the strength and unity of women. The subsequent public meeting was presided over by Durga Vahini Telangana State Convenor Vani Sakkubai. Pragya Didi said that Jijabai shaped Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj into a great protector of Dharma through her values and upbringing, while Rani Lakshmibai earned global recognition for Indian women's courage through her heroic fight.
Pragya Didi described the Indian family system as sacred and said that the values imparted by mothers to their children form the foundation of the nation's future. She urged women to spread love, compassion and affection while also developing the courage to stand against injustice whenever necessary. She called upon young women to remain alert to incidents of harassment, violence, deception in the name of love, what she described as "Love Jihad", and forced religious conversions. She stressed that any attempt to undermine women's freedom, dignity and safety should be addressed through lawful and collective action.
The event was organized on the occasion of the birth centenary of late Ashok Singhal, a senior Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader. Durga Vahini members showcased their physical skills and training through demonstrations of stick fighting, unarmed combat, sword fighting and several other martial arts techniques.
