Director Akella V. Krishna's Vadala brings together Jagapathi Babu and Laya on screen after nearly two decades, delivering a psychological family thriller that blends emotional drama with suspense. Produced by Kishore Naidu and Tammareddy Bharadwaja under the Charitha Chitra banner, the film opened in theatres on Friday.

The story revolves around Dr. Yogi Siddharth (Jagapathi Babu), whose peaceful family life is disrupted by Amuda (Hrithika Srinivas), a psychologically disturbed young woman who becomes dangerously obsessed with him. The film explores how her manipulation threatens Siddharth's 20-year marriage and the emotional turmoil that follows, while keeping the audience engaged with several suspenseful twists.

Jagapathi Babu delivers a restrained performance as a devoted family man, while Laya impresses as his supportive wife, making their on-screen reunion one of the film's biggest strengths. Hrithika Srinivas stands out with an intense portrayal of a seemingly innocent woman hiding a deeply disturbed personality, adding tension throughout the narrative.

The screenplay gradually shifts from family drama to an engaging psychological thriller in the second half. Chota K. Naidu's cinematography effectively enhances the film's suspenseful atmosphere, while Karthik B. Kodakandla's background score elevates the tension during key moments. Lakshmi Bhoopal's dialogues and Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao's crisp editing further strengthen the presentation.

Overall, Vadala offers an engaging mix of family emotions and psychological suspense. While it follows familiar genre elements, the performances and gripping second half make it a worthwhile watch for thriller enthusiasts.
