Tur prices ease marginally chana, masur hold steady

Tur prices declined in some key spot markets on Thursday due to weak demand, while chana and masur prices remained largely unchanged, traders said.

In Solapur, Maharashtra, tur prices fell by ₹50 to ₹7,400-₹8,300/100kg as demand softened despite limited arrivals of 11-12 truckloads.  Traders said prices continue to fluctuate depending on demand, import prices and the progress of the kharif crop. Concerns over slow sowing persist, particularly in Karnataka, although sowing in parts of Maharashtra remains satisfactory. Chana prices in Indore were steady at ₹6,500/100kg, while Delhi markets quoted ₹6,225-₹6,250/100kg. Traders expect prices to strengthen by ₹100-₹200/100kg ahead of the festive season, supported by higher demand and expectations that the government may suspend chana stock sales.

Masur prices remained unchanged at ₹6,000/100kg in Indore, with imported supplies continuing to meet demand due to their lower prices.
