In a major technological upgrade aimed at enhancing pilgrim safety and crowd management, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has introduced AI–enabled face recognition cameras across key locations in Tirumala. The advanced Face Recognition Cameras (FRCs) have been installed around the temple complex as part of a security modernization plan. Officials said the new system was first tested on a pilot basis during the recent Rathasapthami festival.

According to TTD authorities, the cameras help in real-time assessment of crowd density and potential security threats. The system enables identification of suspicious activity. All the cameras have been linked to the central command control center located at the Vaikuntam Queue Complex-I. Officials can monitor all locations simultaneously and take decisions. TTD officials revealed that the same technology played a crucial role in regulating the devotees who arrived for Vaikunta Dwara Darshan.
