In a major development for green infrastructure and sustainable development, the Government of Telangana signed Letters of Intent (LoIs) with leading Japanese Eco Town companies to collaborate on circular economy initiatives, including the establishment of a model Eco Town in Hyderabad.
This collaboration includes key players such as EX Research Institute, P9 LLC, Nippon Steel Engineering, New Chemical Trading, and Amita Holdings, who will support Telangana in implementing advanced recycling, municipal waste management, and environmental restoration practices.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, accompanied by IT & Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu and senior officials, received a ceremonial welcome in Kitakyushu by Mayor Kazuhisa Takeuchi. Kitakyushu, globally recognized for its transformation from one of the most polluted industrial cities to a clean, green urban space, served as an inspiring backdrop for the announcement.
The Telangana delegation undertook a comprehensive study tour, including visits to the River Restoration Museum, riverfront walk, and industrial recycling plants, to understand firsthand the city’s pioneering efforts in environmental regeneration.
