Asifabad: District Superintendent of Police Nithika Panth has announced on Monday that special measures have been initiated in the district to control illegal cattle transportation and unlawful slaughter. As per the instructions of the Telangana State Police Department, 11 check posts have been established in sensitive areas and inter-state border regions of the district. The SP stated that round-the-clock surveillance will be maintained to prevent illegal cattle transport.
She directed traders and transporters to strictly adhere to all government regulations regarding the purchase, sale, transportation, and slaughter of animals.She particularly emphasized that cow slaughter is a cognizable offence under the law and warned that stringent action would be taken against those violating the norms. The SP made it clear that a “Fit for Transport” certificate from a competent Veterinary Doctor is mandatory before transporting any cattle.
The Superintendent of Police appealed to the people of the district to immediately report any information regarding illegal cattle transportation to the nearest police station or the PCR Control Room at 8712670557.She cautioned the public not to take the law into their own hands by stopping vehicles or conducting checks themselves. She also advised people to refrain from spreading rum ours and false information on social media.
