On the occasion of India’s 80th Independence Day, several celebs from the Indian film industry took to social media to honour the day

Akshay Kumar was one of the first celebrities to post about Independence Day on social media. He tweeted, “Hamare tirange ki shaan yun hi bani rahe, har dil mein ummeed aur har aankh mein ek behtar kal ka sapna rahe. Aap sabhi ko Swatantrata Divas ki hardik Shubhakamnaen. Jai Hind! (May the pride of our flag remain intact, may hope reign in every heart and the dream of a better tomorrow in every eye. Happy Independence Day to all of you. Jai Hind!)”

Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff were spotted at a ground in Mumbai on Saturday morning, where they were playing cricket. Amid the match, Akshay, Tiger and others celebrated the 80th Independence Day. A video of the same has gone viral on social media, in which we can see Akshay taking off his shoes, standing on a chair while holding the National Flag, as everyone sings Jana Gana Mana.

Kangana Ranaut shared a video on her Instagram story in which she is seen with the Indian Flag, and the actress and BJP MP used the song Bharat Humko Jaan Se Pyaara Hai in her post. 

Suniel Shetty tweeted, “Every time the Tiranga goes up, the heart somehow stands a little taller. Happy Independence Day... Always proud. Always grateful. Jai Hind! (sic).”

Amitabh Bachchan took to X and wrote in Hindi, “The day of freedom; an auspicious day of congratulations! Vande Mataram!”

Shah Rukh Khan wrote, “A very Happy Independence Day to all.. There’s something special about being Indian...the colours, the contrasts, the beautiful differences, the spirit and above all, the feeling of belonging to something much bigger than ourselves...our Country. May we always value what we have and do our little bit to make our country proud. Proud to be an Indian and love being one. Jai Hind!”

Kamal Haasan celebrated the occasion in a poetic style. He wrote in Tamil, “Even if you, Goddess of Freedom, destroy me, causing a crore of troubles, I will never forget to worship you. These lines by Bharati are eternally immortal. Greetings of Independence Day to fellow Indians.”

Kajol penned down her thoughts on X. Thanking the Indian Armed Forces for safeguarding the nation, the actress wrote, “Looking at the world today I have a heart filled with gratitude for the people who have made it possible for us to say Happy Independence Day. Salute all the #navy #airforce #armypersonnel who make it so.. #JaiHind.”

Ajay Devgn shared a message on his Instagram Story, “To the freedom that lets us dream, create and build. Happy Independence Day,” he wrote.

Ram Charan wrote, “Happy Independence Day to every Indian.  Proud to be a part of this incredible nation. Jai Hind.” Meanwhile, Allu Arjun deleted his Independence Day tweet after facing backlash for posting an image of the Indian flag without the Ashoka Chakra.

Raveena Tandon attended a charity initiative at a mall in Mumbai. She took part in the flag-hoisting ceremony and celebrated the day with children and guests. She posted a few photos from the event and wrote, “Wishing everyone Happy Independence Day. Jai Hind! Vande Mataram.”
