STAR Hospitals celebrates Heart Day with heartwarming reunion

STAR Hospitals hosted a special reunion today titled "Chhoti Saansein, Badi Udeedein" (Small Breaths, Big Hopes) in honor of World Heart Day.  The event brought together children who underwent life-saving pediatric heart surgeries 6 to 9 years ago alongside their families to celebrate health, resilience and new beginnings. ​ Dr. Rahul Medakkar, Chief Executive Officer, STAR Hospitals Group, Hyderabad, said that events like this are a beautiful reminder of the impact that compassionate healthcare can have on young lives.

Held at the STAR Heart Institute, STAR Hospitals, Banjara Hills, the celebration featured a program for attendees such as drawing & caricature sessions. The highlight of the day featured renowned cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Gopichand Mannam and his medical team. Dr. Gopichand Mannam, affectionately referred to as the "Surgeon with Golden Hands," has transformed thousands of lives. Through his initiative, the Hrudaya Foundation, Dr. Mannam and his team have successfully performed more than 8,000 free pediatric heart surgeries, giving underprivileged children a second chance at life.
