Khushi Kapoor and Junaid Khan are all set for their theatrical debut in the upcoming romantic comedy Loveyapa. The film has created a buzz ever since its announcement and the release of its first song, Loveyapa Ho Gaya. On Friday, the makers released the trailer of the movie, which has now gone viral and is trending all over the internet.

At the launch event, Aamir Khan made a special appearance to support his son Junaid’s first theatrical release. While introducing Khushi and Junaid, Aamir revealed that Loveyapa is a special movie for him for many reasons—one of them being Khushi Kapoor. The actor got emotional as he fondly remembered legendary actress Sridevi.

He said, “It is a very important day for me, and there are 2-3 reasons behind it. One of the reasons is Khushi because I have been such a huge fan of Sri from the very beginning. You all know, since the beginning of my career, I always only spoke about Sri. It was my dream to work with her, but unfortunately, that didn’t happen. So, it’s Khushi’s film, and it is a very important moment for me.

I have already seen the film, and when I watched it, I felt like I was watching Sri all over again. That is what I felt. So, all the very best, Khushi. This is the start of your career. This is your first theatrical film, and I will pray for you.”

He further added, “Wherever Sri is, I’m sure she’s looking at you with a lot of joy and happiness in her heart. I remember her today with a lot of fondness, and it would have been so nice if she were here today, but she’s with us.”

When Khushi was asked about her late mother Sridevi at the launch event, she got extremely emotional and said, “It’s an emotional moment, but it is not something I really want to talk about.” Sridevi passed away at the age of 54 on February 24, 2018, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, due to accidental drowning.

For the unversed, Khushi made her acting debut in 2023 with Netflix’s The Archies, while Junaid was first seen in Maharaj, which premiered on Netflix in 2024. Their upcoming film Loveyapa also features Grusha Kapoor, Ashutosh Rana, Tanvika Parlikar, and Kiku Sharda, among others. Directed by Laal Singh Chaddha director Advait Chandan, the rom-com is produced by Phantom Studios and AGS Entertainment.

Loveyapa is a tale of modern romance that offers a heartwarming story enriched with unforgettable performances, lively music, and breathtaking visuals. Celebrating love in all its shades, the film is poised to resonate with audiences of all ages. The film is set to release on February 7, 2025.
