Smartsheet, the Intelligent Work Management platform, has announced an expansion of its Global Capabilities Center (GCC) in Bengaluru, aiming to accelerate software development and innovation. The center, which opened in 2025, currently hosts teams across engineering, product management, UX, IT, security, and customer support, developing enterprise-grade AI-driven work management tools.

The company plans to add more than 200 employees this year, focusing on deep technical talent such as data scientists, DevSecOps engineers, product managers, and UX designers. While engineering remains the core, the hub will also include customer support, marketing, sales, talent acquisition, and other business functions.

Bengaluru was chosen for its thriving tech ecosystem and reputation as a global innovation hub, offering a talent pool with expertise in AI, cybersecurity, and cross-industry solutions. Several Indian enterprises, including Infosys, Vedanta, Maruti Suzuki, and Swiggy, already use Smartsheet’s platform.

“The establishment of the India GCC shows our commitment to the local market and accelerates our global strategy,” said Rajeev Singh, CEO of Smartsheet. He added that the hub is being built as a multifunctional center guided by AI-first principles, enabling teams to own end-to-end capabilities that shape both the company and customer experience worldwide.

Madhusudan Krishnapuram, vice president of engineering and site lead, noted that the center has already exceeded first-year targets, creating a strong software development engine contributing to Smartsheet’s global product roadmap.

Smartsheet serves over 120,000 customers globally, including teams in 85% of the Fortune 500, helping enterprises execute complex work efficiently and securely.
