‘Smart ration cards to make welfare transparent’

Welfare must reach the eligible beneficiary directly, transparently and without unnecessary difficulties

Minister for Minorities Welfare & Public Enterprises Mohammad Azharuddin said the Telangana government is committed to ensuring food security and delivering welfare benefits to every eligible family in a transparent, efficient and timely manner.

The Minister was speaking at the smart ration cards distribution programme at Komuram Bheem Adivasi Bhavan, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad on Sunday. Addressing the gathering, Mohammad Azharuddin said the distribution of smart ration cards is an important step towards modernising the public distribution system and making government services more convenient for beneficiaries.

He said the new smart ration cards will help beneficiaries carry and access their ration-card details conveniently, while digitalisation will reduce the difficulties associated with the old ration books. The Minister said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is giving special importance to education and is taking several measures to improve the delivery of welfare schemes.

“The Congress government has made commitments to the people, and we are working sincerely to fulfil those commitments. Welfare must reach the eligible beneficiary directly, transparently and without unnecessary difficulties,” he said. The Minister urged beneficiaries to make full use of the smart ration cards and government welfare programmes.

The programme was attended by MP Anil Kumar Yadav, MLC Kodandaram, MLC Mirza Rahmat Baig, AIMIM MLAs Mir Zulfikar Ali and Kausar Mohiuddin, Jubilee Hills MLA Naveen Yadav, Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender and Sri Ganesh, Hyderabad District Collector Priyanka Ala, Additional Collector (Local Bodies) Jitender Reddy, RDO Secunderabad Sairam, Civil Supplies department officials and beneficiaries.
