As part of efforts to promote environmental awareness, the State Secretariat observed Earth Hour 2026 today. In line with the global initiative, all electric lights at the Secretariat were switched off from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM.

The main Secretariat building, along with various office blocks, rooms, and halls within the premises, remained completely dark during the hour, symbolizing commitment to energy conservation and environmental protection.

Observed under the slogan “GiveAnHourForEarth,” the initiative aimed to encourage citizens to take collective responsibility towards safeguarding the environment. The campaign was conducted worldwide, raising awareness on climate change and the need for sustainable living practices.

The State government reiterated its commitment to supporting global environmental movements and urged people to actively participate in such initiatives for a greener future.
