Seattle food festival shooting: 3 killed, 2nd suspect sought

Gunfire at Bite of Seattle festival leaves four injured, including a toddler; police say suspects were shooting at each other

Seattle: Police searched for a second suspect on Monday after a shooting at the Bite of Seattle food festival beneath the Space Needle left three people dead and four injured, including a two-year-old boy. One suspect was arrested.

Assistant Seattle Police Chief Tyrone Davis said investigators believed the two suspects were shooting at each other. One suspect remained ing at large. Police had no description of the suspect.

Two men, aged 19 and 44, died along with a 56-year-old woman. Two victims died at the scene, while the third died in hospital. The four injured, including the toddler, were hospitalised and were in stable condition on Monday.

The shooting began at 6pm on Sunday during the closing hours of the annual three-day fest, which attracts hundr­eds of vendors and performers. 

Officers deployed at the venue saw one suspect open fire. While one surrendered, the second fled and evaded a police search. Witnesses des­cribed scenes of panic as festival-goers ran for cover. Ven­dors abandoned stalls.
