The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has invited online applications for the Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhaya Hastham scheme, under which eligible Telangana candidates who have qualified in the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination will receive financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to prepare for the Main Examination.

SCCL Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Buddhaprakash Jyoti said the scheme is being continued this year as per the directions of the Telangana government to support Civil Services aspirants from the state. Eligible candidates can apply online, and after scrutiny of applications, Rs 1 lakh will be provided to each eligible applicant. The scheme was launched in 2024 under SCCL's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to help Telangana youth pursue careers in the Civil Services.

In 2024, 140 candidates who cleared the Preliminary Examination received Rs 1 lakh each. Of them, 20 candidates who qualified for the interview stage were given an additional Rs 1 lakh, and seven were finally selected for the Civil Services.

Last year, 206 candidates received financial assistance under the scheme. Among them, 50 reached the interview stage and 20 secured final selection.

Overall, 346 Civil Services aspirants have benefited from the Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhaya Hastham scheme during the last two years, highlighting SCCL's continued support for Telangana's Civil Services aspirants.
