In a humanitarian gesture, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy sanctioned Rs.5 lakh financial assistance to the family of Arelli Gangarajam, a Gulf worker from Polasa village in Jagtial rural mandal, who died after returning to India for treatment. He was suffering from a severe kidney-related ailment, went into a coma on November 12, 2025, at Aster Hospital in Dubai. For advanced treatment, he was shifted to Hyderabad on December 14 and admitted to NIMS. Later, he received treatment at the Jagtial Rehabilitation Center and finally died at the Jagtial Government Area Hospital on December 24.

The cheque was handed over to the deceased’s wife Rajavva at Praja Bhavan here by CM Praja Vani Incharge and State Planning Board Vice Chairman G. Chinna Reddy.

Though rules allow ex-gratia only if death occurs in Gulf countries, Revanth Reddy approved aid through the CM Relief Fund, treating the case as special. Polasa Sarpanch Milkoori Shankaraiah and DCC President Gajengi Nandaiah expressed gratitude to CM Revanth Reddy, Jagtial MLA Dr. Makunuri Sanjay Kumar, and the official machinery for supporting Gulf worker families with a humanitarian approach.
