Floral tributes paid to PV in TG Assembly

On the occasion of the 20th death anniversary of former Prime Minister and ex-CM in combined Andhra Pradesh, Late PV Narasimha Rao, a program was organized in the Members’ Lounge of the Telangana Legislative Assembly. Floral tributes were paid to the portrait of the great leader.

Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy, Deputy Chairman Banda Prakash Mudiraj, Minister for Legislative Affairs Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Members of the Legislative Assembly, Members of the Legislative Council including Prof M Kodandaram, M Kavitha among others, and Legislative Secretary Dr. V. Narasimha Charyulu, along with other officials, participated in the program.

The dignitaries collectively remembered the visionary leader’s contributions and emphasized the need to follow his ideals and work towards the progress of the nation.

Anyone doubting his credentials as a reformist should only look at the Eighth Five Year Plan report where it showed that Narasimha Rao was totally behind the reform process, including delicensing of industries and the liberalised trade regime.

-C. Rangarajan Former RBI Governor

He used one word where two might do. He once told me that some things should be left unsaid. He was astute, crafty, patient; also capable of radioactive sarcasm. He smiled without a smile. Nehru had a temper, PV a temperament.

-K Natwar Singh Former External Affairs Minister

1991 was the next momentous event after 1947 because the change brought about by PV in the spheres of economy, politics and foreign policy of the post-Nehruvian era.
