Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy conducted a detailed on-site inspection of the ongoing construction works at the ambitious Hakimpeta (Hakimpet/Hakeempet) Education Hub in Dudyal mandal of Vikarabad district, located in his home Kodangal assembly constituency.

The visit underscored the state government’s priority to develop integrated professional education infrastructure outside Hyderabad and expand access for students from rural and neighbouring areas.During the inspection, the Chief Minister closely examined the progress on key components of the multi-institutional campus. 

These include the Young India Integrated Residential School, government medical, nursing, physiotherapy and paramedical colleges, a 430-bedded hospital, hostels, and other supporting structures. Officials accompanying him provided updates on civil works, academic buildings, internal infrastructure and related facilities that form part of the sprawling education hub.

The Hakimpeta Education Hub is envisioned as an integrated higher education and professional training campus bringing multiple institutions under one umbrella. Once completed, it is expected to strengthen medical, paramedical, nursing and allied health education while easing pressure on facilities concentrated in the state capital. 

The project aligns with the broader “Young India” initiatives of the Congress government, which include residential schools across constituencies aimed at providing quality education with modern amenities to students from diverse backgrounds.Revanth Reddy directed officials to ensure seamless coordination among all departments and agencies involved in the various construction packages. 

He emphasised that the multiple buildings and facilities must progress in a synchronised manner so that the hub becomes fully functional as a cohesive educational ecosystem rather than a collection of isolated projects.

The Chief Minister specifically instructed continuous monitoring of construction quality and technical standards. He told officials to conduct regular inspections at every stage, address any deviations promptly, and maintain high benchmarks in materials, workmanship and engineering specifications. Quality, he stressed, cannot be compromised in projects that will serve generations of students and patients.Particular attention was paid to rainwater management and site sustainability. 

Revanth Reddy advised the setting up of water harvesting wells to prevent water stagnation during the monsoon season. He directed officials to prepare comprehensive plans for capturing rainwater and utilising it for landscaping and green cover across the campus. Such measures, he noted, would not only address drainage issues but also promote water conservation and create a pleasant, environmentally responsible learning environment.

The inspection comes amid the government’s push to accelerate infrastructure works in Kodangal and Vikarabad. Local MLAs and senior officials from multiple departments, including the district administration, were present during the review. The Chief Minister has previously indicated that projects of this scale require strict timelines and personal oversight to prevent delays.

The Education Hub forms part of Telangana’s larger effort to revitalise public education and professional training. The state has been investing significantly in Young India Integrated Residential Schools, skill development institutions, and medical education expansion. Officials have been tasked with ensuring that land-related issues, including the allotment of plots to farmers who surrendered land for the project, are resolved without further delay so that construction faces no impediments.

By combining academic institutions with a substantial hospital facility, the Hakimpeta campus is positioned to offer integrated learning and practical training opportunities, particularly in health sciences. The 430-bed hospital is expected to support clinical exposure for nursing, physiotherapy and paramedical students while also serving the healthcare needs of the surrounding rural population.

Revanth Reddy’s focus on coordination, quality control and sustainable design reflects the administration’s stated goal of creating durable, future-ready public infrastructure. Officials have been asked to submit regular progress reports and resolve bottlenecks at the earliest. 

The Chief Minister’s personal involvement in reviewing the site signals that the Hakimpeta Education Hub remains a priority developmental project for the region.As works continue, the emphasis on rainwater harvesting and landscaping is expected to make the campus resilient to seasonal weather challenges common in the Deccan region. 

Once operational, the hub is anticipated to contribute to decentralising quality higher and professional education, reducing the need for students from Vikarabad and nearby districts to migrate to Hyderabad for medical, nursing and related courses. The inspection concluded with directions for accelerated yet carefully supervised execution, ensuring that the Young India Integrated Residential School, medical and paramedical colleges, 430-bed hospital and supporting facilities come up as a model of coordinated public investment in education and health.
