BJP Telangana State President N Ramchander Rao on Tuesday strongly rejected the CM Revanth Reddy’s allegation that the central government has discriminated against Telangana by denying him political clearance to visit US.
Rao ,who is on hunger strike on second day in support of students cause, clarified in a statement that the decision of the central government was based on information that he was going to meet certain individuals and organizations in US who caused trouble to India and its people. He said CM Revanth Reddy failed to submit proper information of his foreign trip.
BJP state chief questioned the CM are you travelling just to meet anti-national forces in foreign countries and said in the past UPA regime also had a history of halting foreign visits of several CMs.
Rao pointed out that when Revanth Reddy previously traveled twice to the USA, as well as to London and Singapore, no one stopped him, asking why those who didn't stop him then would stop him this time.
He recalled that between 2010 and 2024, during the previous UPA government's tenure as well, foreign trip proposals of leaders like Chandrababu Naidu, K Chandrasekhar Rao, Mayawati, Tarun Gogoi, and Arjun Munda were halted when paperwork was incomplete, proper reasons were not filled out, or when there was no clarity on whom they were meeting. He stated that this happens strictly according to Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) rules, and the government acts as per regulations whenever there is a suspicion that someone is meeting anti-national elements.
Condemning the allegations leveled by CM Revanth Reddy, he said it is a serious mistake and uncalled for him to blame the Central Government.
Responding to comparisons made with Gujarat, Rao said that for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, every state in the country whether Gujarat or Telangana is equal, and the Centre moves forward with the principle of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas." He noted that petrol prices in Gujarat are lower by about Rs.15 compared to Telangana.
He clarified that if Telangana has developed today, it is solely because of Narendra Modi's Central Government. He stated that national highways, the Warangal Airport, the Warangal Railway Coach Factory, AIIMS Bibinagar, modernization of railway stations, and Vande Bharat Express trains were all provided by the Central Government. He further stated that the development of industries like space technology and aerospace in the state happened due to the Central Government. He criticised the state Congress government for doing nothing other than developing real estate business.
