Rasha Thadani and Aaman Devgan make their big Bollywood debut with Abhishek Kapoor’s film Azaad. While Rasha is the daughter of Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon, Aaman is the nephew of actor Ajay Devgn. The duo recently joined The Free Press Journal for a candid conversation, where they spoke from the heart about coming from a film family, carrying forward the legacies of Raveena and Ajay, and dealing with comparisons. The newcomers also discussed how it feels to be associated with such iconic names in the industry and shared their plans for staying grounded.
When asked if it’s difficult for Rasha to stay grounded after getting so much love even before the release of her debut film, she said being humble is her thing. “I think the perfect example is Shraddha Kapoor. See the following that she has, but you meet her and she is the most humble, sweet and kind person.
I think she’s the prime example for all of us to be because I mean she’s amazing and I think that’s what we should aspire to be. Even Tamannaah Bhatia for that matter. With the kind of viewership she has had with Aaj Ki Raat, she has not changed a bit - she’s just grateful. And when you meet her, you will not feel a spec of any of that get to her head.
She is the warmest kindest person and it’s amazing to see them.” Aaman added, “That and the way we have been brought up is very specific to being very grounded and we’ve not been exposed to that side of cinema rather than it’s been more of an exposure to the art side or the performance side, which I think was a great benefit.”
Rasha concluded the chat by saying, “My mother has taught me to stay grounded, feet on the ground no matter how much success or how many compliments you get. My mother tells me that ‘if I feel one day you are going up I will come and slap you. If I feel you are flying in the sky, I will tell you to come back down to earth’.”
