Hyderabad: Actor Ranbir Kapoor has expressed his admiration for Rani Mukerji, calling it “really amazing” to see the entire Indian film industry come together to celebrate 30 years of her iconic journey in cinema with the announcement of Mardaani 3. Ranbir, who considers Rani his favourite actor, said the moment marks a fitting tribute to her lasting impact on Indian cinema.

Rani was Ranbir’s co-star in his debut film Saawariya and played a crucial role during his early days in the industry. Recalling that time, Ranbir said Rani was the first person to encourage him, telling him that hard work would take him far. He called her “one for the ages” and among the greatest actors India has produced, adding that her choice of roles has significantly shaped the portrayal of women on screen.

Ranbir noted that Rani’s primary aim has always been to spread joy through her films. Meanwhile, Mardaani 3 has generated massive buzz online, becoming one of the most talked-about film announcements. The franchise, known for addressing crimes against women, will this time focus on the kidnapping of young girls aged 8–9 years from economically weaker sections.

Directed by Abhiraj Minawala and produced by Aditya Chopra, Mardaani 3 continues the franchise’s tradition of socially relevant, hard-hitting storytelling, further cementing Rani Mukerji’s legacy as a powerhouse performer.
