State Power Minister Gottipati Ravikumar said on Friday that Rayalaseema is a suitable place in the country for setting up of renewable power projects. Along with ministers Anagani Satya Prasad, Savita and Satya kumar and local MLA M S Raju, Minister Minister Gottipati Ravikumar laid the foundation stone for the construction of three sub-stations after inaugurating four sub-stations in Madakashira constituency of Anantapuram district.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, Minister Gottipati lamented that in the last five years, investors who had come to set up renewable power projects have been driven out of the state due to which the state has lagged behind in renewable energy. Minister Gottipati said that after the formation of the NDA government in the state, a survey was conducted with companies like Navayuga on the setting up of renewable power projects and it was discussed&decided in the cabinet meeting for setting up of projects in Rayalaseema region.
He said that renewable power projects such as solar, wind and Pumped Storage Plants will be set up which will develop the surrounding areas and increase employment and employment opportunities for the youth of Rayalaseema region. Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar mentioned about “Surya Ghar” scheme under which solar panels are being installed for 10,000 houses in each constituency. He said that Prime Minister Modi has specifically granted for 20 lakh PM Surya Ghar connections to Andhra Pradesh and that every house will become a power generating station. Similarly, Minister Gottipati made it clear that steps are being taken to provide 9 hours of quality power supply during the day to meet the difficulties of farmers.
