Punjab Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) Inderpal Singh paid a courtesy visit to Andhra Pradesh State Right to Information (RTI) Commissioner P.S. Naidu on Friday, highlighting inter-state collaboration in strengthening the Right to Information (RTI) framework. During the meeting, CIC Inderpal Singh inquired about the functioning and performance of the Andhra Pradesh State Information Commission.
RTI Commissioner Naidu, in turn, learned from CIC Inderpal Singh about the Punjab State Information Commission's practices, particularly the disposal of second appeals under the RTI Act, 2005. Both officials emphasized the critical role of government cooperation in ensuring more effective and efficient implementation of the RTI Act. Following the discussions, Commissioner P.S. Naidu honored CIC Inderpal Singh with a shawl and presented a memento as a gesture of respect. CIC Inderpal Singh reciprocated by honoring Commissioner Naidu with a shawl. The meeting was also attended by Andhra Pradesh State Information Commissioner Chavali Sunil.
