PK shares his achievements as MLA and minister

Pawan Kalyan took to X to showcase the initiatives that he undertook in the last six months. He added, he was happy to be a good government

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan shared the details of what he did for his Pithapuram assembly constituency on social media media platform X in the last six and a half months. He said that he is happy to be in a good government elected by the people with progress, transparency, sustainability and accountability as its four pillars

As part of this, he said that some of the salient works were TTD Kalyana Mandapam for the marriages of the poor being built at an estimated cost of ₹2 crore, drinking water facility in Gollaprolu was provided at a cost of ₹72 lakh, distribution of sports kits worth Rs 50,000 each to 32 schools, upgrading of CHC to a 100-bed hospital, RO plants in schools and colleges, setting up a computer facility at Gollaprolu women’s college at a cost of Rs 11 lakhs .

As Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Minister

 He mentioned his significant achievements state-wide as Minister for Panchayath Raj and Rural Development. He said that 13,326 “grama sabhas” were held on a single day across the state. Similarly, on October 14th, 30 thousand works were started across the state at an estimated cost of Rs 4,500 crores with an aim to finish them by  Sankranthi.

Pawan Kalyan mentioned that Rs 2109.97 crores were granted by the centre as part of 15th Finance Commission funds out of which a major share was spent on infrastructure like roads, sanitation and water related works. He said that as  part of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Gurantee Scheme, the central government granted Rs 7363.02 crores With these, 20.13 crore man days were generated for 70.87 lakh people.

With respect to Rural Drinking water supply, Pawan Kalyan said that Rs 601 crores had been spent till now in these 6 and half months. Similarly pending salaries worth Rs 34.17 crores were paid to over 1800 employees in rural drinking water department who had not been paid since 4-8 months.

As Minister for Environment and Forests

Pawan Kalyan mentioned that a Memorandum of Agreement(MoU) was signed with the Government of Karnataka to utilize the services of “Kunki” elephants , to work jointly for promoting eco tourism and to curb the illegal trafficking and trading of sandalwood.

He also recalled that a target has been fixed to raise the green cover in the state from 29 to 50% and to implement an “afforesting” tree planting program for the same. Similarly 14 check dams and 677 percolation tanks were being built to conserve water he said.

He also mentioned that an agreement has been signed with World Wildlife Fund for preservation of tigers and other wild life in Papikonda national park near Rajahmundry.

As Minister for Science and Technology

Pawan Kalyan mentioned that establishment of “space parks” are being discussed upon to inculcate interest and awareness of space research among school going students. He also said that in collaboration with central government, a science gallery, mini planetarium, display of scientific equipment, information about famous scientists, workshop about robotics, etc were established at the sub regional science centre at Rajahmundry.
