Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has ordered strict action against a contractor over alleged quality deficiencies in development works carried out in Pedapenki village of Parvathipuram Manyam district. He also directed officials to withhold payments for the affected road works until corrective measures are taken.
The Deputy Chief Minister’s intervention followed reports that several newly constructed cement concrete (CC) roads in the village had developed cracks. Acting on the complaints, he directed the State Chief Quality Control Officer to conduct a field inspection. The inspection reportedly found quality deficiencies in the construction of five CC roads.
Based on the quality control report, Pawan Kalyan instructed the district administration and Panchayat Raj Engineering Department to initiate action against the contractor responsible for the works. He also directed the District Collector and other officials to stop the release of bills related to the roads until the identified deficiencies are addressed.
Reviewing the progress of development works in Pedapenki with officials from the district administration and the Panchayat Raj Engineering Department, the Deputy Chief Minister instructed them to expedite the completion of ongoing road and magic drain construction works in the village.
