Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan launched a scathing attack on the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in the state assembly, accusing its leaders of disrupting proceedings and undermining democratic norms. Addressing the house, he asserted that legislators should serve as role models for citizens and questioned the YSRCP's unruly behavior during the Governor’s address.

“Can YSRCP leaders behave like this when the Governor is addressing the Assembly?” he asked, condemning their actions. He went on to allege that the party had become synonymous with chaos and indecency, highlighting the contradiction of lawmakers themselves violating rules. He even drew a controversial parallel, saying that the ruckus created by YSRCP members reminded him of the murder of Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, a case that remains politically sensitive in the state.

In a rare show of admiration, Pawan Kalyan praised Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, stating that Naidu endured five years of YSRCP rule despite facing relentless political attacks and challenges. He condemned the opposition's decision to boycott the Governor’s speech, calling it an unfortunate move that disrespected constitutional decorum. Despite their attempts to disrupt, he noted that the Governor completed his address successfully, for which he expressed gratitude.

Highlighting the breakdown of law and order during the previous regime, Pawan Kalyan pointed to several instances of alleged misgovernance, including, the mishandling of the Amaravati capital project, calling YSRCP’s three-capital proposal a ploy that scared away investors and weakened Andhra’s economy. The destruction of over 200 temples, forced land acquisitions, and cases like the mysterious death of Dr. Sudhakar, which he claimed symbolized the previous government’s suppression of dissent.

“Yesterday’s chaos in the Assembly brought back memories of the destruction of Praja Vedika, the desecration of temples, and the arrests of political opponents. It was a reminder of the dark days Andhra Pradesh endured under YSRCP,” Pawan Kalyan lamented.

Contrasting his government’s performance, Pawan Kalyan outlined key achievements within just six months of the NDA-led administration, construction of over 4,000 km of CC roads, compared to 1,800 km in YSRCP’s five years, establishment of 22,000 Gokulams (cow shelters) across the state, prevention of privatization of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, a decision he attributed to the efforts of CM Chandrababu Naidu and NDA leadership, and strengthening of water supply infrastructure under the Jal Jeevan Mission, despite alleged mismanagement of central funds by the previous administration.

Pawan Kalyan also accused a former YSRCP Forest Minister of illegally occupying 77 acres of forest land, linking the past government to rampant corruption and environmental exploitation. He highlighted an instance where Red Sanders smugglers from Andhra were caught by Karnataka authorities, who later auctioned the seized wood for Rs.185 crore—a revenue that should have belonged to Andhra Pradesh.

“While Karnataka profited, our own state suffered because of the lack of law enforcement under YSRCP. This is the legacy of their governance,” he charged. Defending the TDP-Jana Sena-BJP alliance, Pawan Kalyan emphasized their commitment to political stability and long-term governance. He dismissed speculation of internal rifts, stating, “We have been united for 15 years. If we fail to stay together, we would be betraying the people who entrusted us with their future.”

On economic recovery, he reiterated that AP’s financial health deteriorated under YSRCP, but the NDA government was now working towards stability and growth. “Chandrababu Naidu is bringing Andhra Pradesh back on track after five years of damage,” he said, asserting that Vision 2047, a long-term development plan, would transform the state.

Reiterating his displeasure over YSRCP's behavior towards the Governor, Pawan Kalyan said, “Even when the Governor was unwell, he stood and delivered his address. YSRCP members, instead of showing respect, walked out. Despite having no fault of ours, we apologized to the Governor on behalf of the state.”

Concluding his fiery speech, Pawan Kalyan issued a political warning to YSRCP, “This alliance government will ensure Andhra Pradesh’s progress, and we will not allow those who insult constitutional institutions to return to power. YSRCP has no place in Andhra’s future. The people have already rejected them—there is no opposition in AP because they were wiped out electorally.”
