PanIIT Alumni India announces AP summit

Andhra Pradesh is set to host a major technology and innovation gathering as PanIIT Alumni India announced the PanIIT Andhra Pradesh Summit 2026, scheduled for October 3 at Novotel Vijayawada Varun.

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the one-day summit, which carries the theme “Catalysing Innovation for Swarnandhra Vision 2047.”  PanIIT Alumni India, the umbrella organization representing more than five lakh alumni of all 23 IITs, expects over 500 delegates, including about 100 founders and startup leaders, 50 CEOs, 50 investors and venture capitalists, besides policymakers, academicians, technology experts and industry leaders from India and abroad. 

The summit will spotlight DeepTech, AI/ML, MedTech, pharma and healthcare, oil and gas, green energy, semiconductors, data centers, quantum computing, defense and aerospace. PanIIT Chairman Prabhat Kumar, IRS, said the global IIT alumni network and Andhra Pradesh’s diaspora can support State development and help make Amaravati India’s DeepTech capital. PanIIT is discussing land for its first Centre of Excellence in Amaravati, with a possible MoU on October 3, and wants the summit to become annual.

Vice Chairman Amitabh Ranjan highlighted India’s 0.65% R&D spending. Sudhakar Gande, Summit Chair, said emerging technologies could create new engines of growth, while convenor Prof. Dr. Ramanaidu Randhi called for stronger government-industry-academia-entrepreneur collaboration to turn research into market-ready solutions. The summit also comes against the backdrop of Andhra Pradesh’s strategic advantages, including its coastline, mineral resources and improving connectivity. The approved 1,107-km Kharagpur–Amaravati corridor, including 457 km in Andhra Pradesh, is expected to strengthen economic links.
