Paediatricians call for preventing violence against children

Child safety and well-being took centre stage in Warangal as paediatricians organised a special awareness program on the prevention of violence against children as part of Pediacon–2026.The program highlighted the need to identify and prevent various forms of violence, abuse and exploitation against children and stressed the importance of creating a safe and supportive environment for every child.

Indian Academy of Paediatrics(IAP)Executive Board Member Dr. B. Sugunakara Reddy, PATS President Dr. Guduru Vijay Kumar and Warangal Academy of Paediatrics President Dr. G. Ramesh emphasised that timely identification of physical and psychological changes in children could help prevent several serious problems. Warangal is also hosting Pediacon–2026, the 12th Telangana State Conference of the Indian Academy of Paediatrics and the IAP Central Zone Conference, from August 28 to 30 at Sathya Sai Convention Centre.

The conference is being held under the theme “Paediatrics Redefined – Precision, Prevention and Practice.” Over the three days, paediatric experts will deliberate on advances in child healthcare, modern treatment approaches, disease prevention, childhood vaccination and strategies for strengthening child health.
