Paddy procurement, women’s week reviewed

A high-level video conference was conducted on Sunday to review the ongoing Yasangi-2026 paddy procurement and the progress of the 99-day “Praja Palana Pragati Pranalika” program, with special focus on “Women’s Welfare Week” celebrations. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka participated from the Khammam district collectorate, while Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy joined from the Civil Supplies Corporation office in Hyderabad. Several other ministers — Tummala Nageswara Rao, Dhanasari Anasuya (Seethakka), Ponnam Prabhakar, Jupally Krishna Rao and Adluri Laxman Kumar — along with senior officials attended the meeting. District Collector Sneha Sabarish and Superintendent of Police Sabarish participated in the conference.

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka congratulated Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy and the department for successfully carrying out paddy procurement despite several challenges. Officials were further directed to make arrangements for purchase of sunflower crop. The government highlighted that paddy procurement amounts are now being credited to farmers’ accounts within hours under the present administration.

Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy directed all District Collectors to ensure 100% paddy procurement is completed by the end of May and assured that all required expenses will be reimbursed. Minister Dhanasari Anasuya (Seethakka) outlined the schedule for Women’s Welfare Week celebrations. She called upon officials to conduct all programs in a festive atmosphere and make them a grand success.

After the video conference, District Collector Sneha Sabarish held a review with local officials and issued the directions regarding various evens such marking of 211 sanctioned VO buildings by May 25, ensuring smooth distribution of nutrition kits and commencement of new anganwadi centers, making arrangements for the inauguration of two solar power units on May 27, organizing special awareness programs on girl child safety and POSH Act (Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace), conducting a loan mela at the collectorate on May 29, etc.
