The Malkajgiri Commissionerate SHE Teams apprehended 59 offenders in just two weeks during intensified operations against harassment of women and girls. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Women Safety) T. Usha Rani stated that strict action will be taken against anyone harassing women, urging victims to lodge complaints without fear.
From March 16 to March 31, the offenders included 49 adults and 10 minors. They were caught during decoy operations at bus stands, railway stations, metro stations, schools, colleges, and markets. Counseling sessions were conducted at the CP Camp Office, LB Nagar, with family members present.
Between April 1 and April 15, 72 complaints were received: 19 related to phone harassment, 23 through social media, and 30 involving direct harassment. Action taken included six criminal cases, 19 petty cases, and counseling for 38 persons.
In one case, a man who met a woman through a matrimonial site allegedly threatened to circulate her private photos after she distanced herself. The SHE Team registered a case and initiated legal proceedings.
