NIMA Telangana Delegation Visits AYUSH Central Ministry

The growing concerns over stipend disparity faced by AYUSH house surgeons, interns and postgraduate scholars in Telangana have reached the Union Ministry of AYUSH, with a delegation of the National Integrated Medical Association (NIMA), Telangana, submitting a representation seeking immediate intervention.

The delegation comprised NIMA Telangana Advisor Prof. Jyotsna Thirunagari, State President Dr. Anil Patil and Secretary Dr. T. Sreedhar. They met Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH Shri Prataprao Jadhav in New Delhi and placed before him the difficulties being faced by young AYUSH medical professionals in the State.

The delegation highlighted the disparity between AYUSH and Allopathic stipends, along with pending arrears and delays in monthly payments. It strongly demanded parity with Allopathic counterparts, stressing that prolonged differences in remuneration have become a matter of professional dignity and fairness.

The issue has gained urgency amid an ongoing agitation by Telangana AYUSH house surgeons and PG doctors. Recent reports put AYUSH house-surgeon stipends at Rs 13,754 against Rs 29,792 for Allopathy, while AYUSH PG stipends remain substantially lower.

NIMA Telangana said it would continue pursuing the genuine concerns of AYUSH students, interns and postgraduate scholars before the appropriate authorities and work towards a fair resolution.
