Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan held a crucial closed-door meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence in Undavalli on Tuesday, deliberating for nearly two hours on key governance and political matters.

The meeting took place shortly after Pawan Kalyan concluded his participation in the launch of the Forest Department’s ‘Hanuman’ project at Mangalagiri on the occasion of World Wildlife Day. From the event venue, the Deputy Chief Minister proceeded directly to meet the Chief Minister.

According to sources, the two leaders held detailed discussions on the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission across the State. They reportedly resolved to ensure the supply of 55 litres of safe drinking water per capita per day to every rural household.

During the review, both leaders are understood to have expressed concern over the previous government’s alleged neglect of the scheme and diversion of Central funds. With the Union government extending the mission deadline until 2028, the State leadership is said to have charted out an action plan to fast-track pending works and strengthen monitoring mechanisms.

Beyond drinking water supply, the meeting also reportedly covered improvements in rural infrastructure, including drainage systems, road construction and maintenance in villages, signalling a broader push for integrated rural development.

The ongoing controversy surrounding the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) also figured prominently in the discussions. Allegations made by former TTD Chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy against current Chairman B.R. Naidu, along with related viral videos, were reviewed during the meeting.

The two leaders are believed to have examined both the administrative and political dimensions of the issue, with an emphasis on safeguarding the sanctity of TTD and maintaining public trust. Quality control in temple prasadam and measures to enhance facilities for devotees were also reportedly discussed.

In addition to governance matters, the meeting is said to have touched upon forthcoming political decisions, including appointments to nominated posts, preparations for local body elections, and preliminary discussions regarding Rajya Sabha candidates.
