560 MPDOs trained for mandal-level prajavani

Officials are accountable to the people and must work with dedication to resolve public grievances, State-level Prajavani In-charge and Telangana State Planning Board Vice-Chairman Dr. G. Chinna Reddy said here on Thursday.

Addressing a training programme at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Praja Bhavan for 560 MPDOs designated as Mandal Prajavani Nodal Officers, Chinna Reddy said officials must patiently hear citizens, receive their applications and make every effort to resolve genuine grievances at the field level without keeping them pending.

Reminding officials that “people are the masters”, he urged the MPDOs to uphold the trust placed in them by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and make Prajavani an effective platform for providing relief to the poor and disadvantaged.

Chinna Reddy said the State-level Chief Minister’s Prajavani had achieved a 75 percent success rate in grievance resolution and called upon district and mandal officials to work with similar commitment.

He said Mandal-level Prajavani will be launched across Telangana from August 17 for the first time, and directed officials to make arrangements including department-wise grievance desks, application assistance counters, drinking water and medical facilities, and special support for senior citizens and persons with disabilities.

State Nodal Officer K. Vidyasagar said officials must remember that they are “public servants” and should take responsibility not merely for receiving petitions but also for ensuring their resolution.

Chief Minister’s OSD Vemula Srinivasulu urged officials to listen to people with patience and empathy, noting that many approach Prajavani after facing problems for a long time. Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Commissioner Divya Devarajan said a patient hearing itself resolves “half the problem” and stressed that grievances must be followed up until appropriate action is taken.

Experts also trained the 560 MPDOs on grievance registration, processing, inter-departmental coordination and public facilitation procedures to ensure a smooth and people-friendly implementation of Mandal Prajavani.

Director of Planning Sheikh Meera, CM Prajavani ACP Umender, Deputy Collector Venkateshwarlu, Centre for Good Governance official Sushila and other officials participated.
